13 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A hall inside a block
The hall sits within a larger complex, so at the default print size its own shape is hard to pick out from the block around it. A larger print separates the two, and 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers keep edges tidy.
- Detail on the stairway
Small detail along the frontage is what a bigger print shows best. Full detail keeps it on a large print or with a fine nozzle; Print friendly adapts it when the model is smaller.
- One piece with the ground
Dolby Theatre is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Dolby Theatre takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Dolby Theatre
The Dolby Theatre holds a live-performance auditorium inside Ovation Hollywood, a shopping and entertainment complex, where Hollywood Boulevard meets Highland Avenue in the Hollywood district of Los Angeles, California. Until 2012 the hall carried the Kodak name. It opened on November 9, 2001, and the Academy Awards ceremony has been held there almost every year since. The TCL Chinese Theatre stands beside it, and the El Capitan Theatre faces it across the boulevard.
David Rockwell, of the Rockwell Group, designed the auditorium with the Oscar ceremonies specifically in mind. Its stage is among the biggest in the country, 60 ft (18 m) deep and 113 ft (34 m) wide, roughly the size of Purdue University's Elliott Hall of Music, though the seating holds only about half as many people, 3,332.
The hall has become known for hosting televised events, and its designers worked closely with leading Hollywood production crews, which gave it a substantial cable infrastructure and an underground cable bunker running beneath the building to trucks parked on nearby streets. The walk from the entrance to the grand stairway is lined with storefronts and Art Deco columns that list the films that have won Best Picture, with blanks left for winners still to come.
About this model
Dolby Theatre is one of more than 4,400 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
