8 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 750 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Facade detail at small sizes
A wide building complex has fine facade detail that can soften at small sizes. Print friendly adapts small features; a larger print or 0.12–0.16 mm layers keeps the edges crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The École Militaire is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The École Militaire takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the École Militaire
The École Militaire is a complex of military training buildings in Paris's 7th arrondissement, southeast of the Champ de Mars. Louis XV founded it in 1751 to educate five hundred young noblemen who had no fortune, opening military schooling to cadets from poorer noble families. Ange-Jacques Gabriel designed the building, and the school opened in 1760.
Gabriel was asked by the king to design a building grander than the Hôtel des Invalides, built under Louis XIV, and work began in 1752 on the farm at Grenelle. The result presented an immense site with fine facades and water supplied by wells and pipes. In 1777 the Comte de Saint-Germain reorganized the school as the École des Cadets-gentilshommes, which Napoleon Bonaparte entered in 1784; he graduated after a single year rather than the usual two.
The complex has continued to house military schools and institutions, among them the École de guerre and the École de guerre - Terre. It houses two staff colleges for senior officers of the French armed forces and a research institute for the military. It has held national monument status since 1990, and visitors can tour it during the European Heritage Days.
