14 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Museum detail at print scale
At small print sizes the museum's finer detail softens first. Print it larger, or choose Full detail, with 0.12–0.16 mm layers.
- One piece with the ground
The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco
San Francisco's Fine Arts Museums bring together the de Young in Golden Gate Park with the Legion of Honor, which stands in Lincoln Park. The combined museums form the largest public arts institution in San Francisco. Between them the two museums hold 130,000 objects. The de Young opened in 1895, and the Legion of Honor opened in 1924 in a Beaux-Arts building.
The de Young's origins lie in the 1894 California Midwinter International Exposition; it was set up as the Memorial Museum. It took the de Young name thirty years afterward, honoring the newspaper publisher Michael Henry de Young. Its copper-clad home, by Herzog & de Meuron, dates from October 2005; Walter Hood designed its landscaping and garden courts.
The Legion of Honor takes its form from the French pavilion at San Francisco's 1915 Panama–Pacific International Exposition, a reproduction of Paris's Palais de la Légion d'Honneur. It opened in 1924; George Applegarth designed its Beaux-Arts building, which stands on a bluff above the Golden Gate. A 1995 expansion by Edward Larrabee Barnes and Mark Cavagnero increased its floor area by 42 percent and added seven special exhibition galleries.
