Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Long halls beside the tracks

The station is a long range of shed roofs with the clock tower above one corner. Print it larger if you want the separate roofs to stay distinct, and use Full detail for a fine nozzle.

  2. Layers for the roof lines

Long, shallow roof slopes are where layer lines show. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the ridge lines straight, and printing slowly helps the tower stay clean.

  3. One piece with the ground

Paris Gare de Lyon is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Paris Gare de Lyon takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Paris Gare de Lyon

Paris Gare de Lyon, usually called simply the Gare de Lyon, is one of Paris's seven large mainline stations, It stands in the 12th arrondissement on the Seine's right bank, in the east of the city, and opened in 1849 at the northern end of the Paris–Marseille railway. The name comes from the city of Lyon, where many long-distance trains from here stop on their way to the South of France.

The 32 platforms sit in two separate halls. Hall 1, the older train shed, labels its tracks with letters from A to N; the newer Hall 2 numbers them from 5 to 23. Four more platforms for the RER lie below the main lines. High-speed TGV trains run to cities across southern and eastern France as well as into Switzerland, Germany, Italy and Spain, and the station also handles regional trains, the RER and the Métro.

The architect François-Alexis Cendrier designed the first station, which opened on August 12, 1849, when it was called the "Railway station from Paris to Montereau". A second building by Cendrier followed in 1855, raised on an embankment 6 to 8 meters (20 to 26 feet) high to protect it from floods of the Seine. A third station of thirteen tracks, built for the World's Fair of 1900, came from the Toulon architect Marius Toudoire; it carries a large fresco painted by Jean-Baptiste Olive of Marseille and was inaugurated on April 6, 1901. Above one corner of the station rises a large clock tower.
