6 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Low structures and open ground
Low structures and open ground make up most of the site. A larger print helps their edges stay crisp, and 0.12–0.16 mm layers keep the top edges clean.
- Detail for thin elements
Thin edges are the finest parts of a site like this. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail suits a large print or a finer nozzle.
- One piece with the ground
The Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer
The Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer, or Berlin Wall Memorial, recalls how the Berlin Wall split the city and the deaths that happened there. The Federal Republic and the State of Berlin established it in 1998. It occupies a site on Bernauer Straße where that street meets Ackerstraße, and the memorial takes in the Chapel of Reconciliation, a 60-meter (200 ft) stretch of the old border, the Berlin Wall Documentation Center, a remembrance window and a center for visitors.
The German Historical Museum proposed the memorial on behalf of Berlin's federal government, and the architects Kohlhoff & Kohlhoff were engaged to design it. Planning and construction cost 2.2 million Marks, with the federal government covering the building work and the state paying for upkeep. Berlin's House of Representatives approved the memorial's opening on September 11, 2008, for the anniversary of the day the Wall fell.
A 60-meter (200 ft) piece of the Wall survives here as it stood when the Wall came down. From the west, an L-element wall is lined by a sandy strip, an inner wall, a lighted Kolonnenweg and a signal fence, with a tower inside the complex. Visitors cannot enter the area, and stainless steel closes both ends of the original wall. The inscription on the northern wall records the city's division from August 13, 1961 to November 9, 1989 and honors the victims of communist tyranny. Across Bernauer Straße, the documentation center has a five-story observation tower.
