Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Keep the long facade crisp

The building is long and low, so its facade detail is what shrinks first. A larger print and 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers keep the facade crisp.

  2. One piece with the ground

The General Staff Building (Saint Petersburg) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The General Staff Building (Saint Petersburg) takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the General Staff Building (Saint Petersburg)

The General Staff Building is a monumental Neoclassical edifice on Palace Square, facing the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Its bow-shaped facade runs for 580 m (1,900 ft) in a long, shallow curve. Carlo Rossi designed it in the Empire style, and it was built between 1819 and 1829.

A tripartite triumphal arch separates the building's two wings and is decorated with sculpture by Stepan Pimenov and Vasily Demuth-Malinovsky. It commemorates the Patriotic War of 1812 and Russia's victory over Napoleonic France, and links Palace Square to Nevsky Prospekt through Bolshaya Morskaya Street. The street runs directly through the arch.

Until the capital moved to Moscow in 1918, the building held the headquarters of the General Staff in its western wing, along with the Foreign Ministry and Finance Ministry in the eastern wing. In 1993 the eastern wing passed to the Hermitage Museum, which remodeled its interior extensively. The western wing is home to the Leningrad Military District headquarters.
