About the Grand Mosque of Kuwait
The Grand Mosque stands in Kuwait City and is Kuwait's largest mosque. Its main prayer hall measures 72 meters (236 ft) across on every side and has teakwood doors, and 144 windows bring in natural light. The grounds span 45,000 square meters (480,000 sq ft), and the building itself takes up 20,000 square meters (220,000 sq ft).
The dome is 26 meters (85 ft) in diameter and 43 meters (141 ft) high, and its decoration features the Asma al-Husna, which are the 99 names of God. The main hall holds up to 10,000 men, and a separate hall holds up to 950 women. There is also a library of Islamic reference works and documents, 350 square meters in size.
Construction began in 1979. The mosque was finished in 1407 AH (1986/1987 CE), on the first day of Shawwal, which is Eid ul-Fitr. Its minaret stands at the northwest corner and recalls Andalusian architecture. Under the eastern courtyard is a 5-level car park that can hold up to 550 cars.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- A dome over a square hall
- The single large dome sits on a square block with a crenellated parapet. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the dome curve smooth, and Full detail keeps the parapet teeth.
- Rows of slim columns
- A columned portico runs along one side. Print friendly strengthens thin columns at small sizes; bigger prints keep them as slender as the model.
- One piece with the ground
- The Grand Mosque of Kuwait is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Grand Mosque of Kuwait takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
