Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Rows of windows

The walls are a tall stack of repeated floors, and the window rows are the detail the print loses first at small scale. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep each row distinct.

  2. Top of the block

The upper floors and roofline sit farthest from the plate, where small features soften first. Print friendly adapts them, and a larger print size gives the top of the block room to read.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, also called Hotel Roosevelt, is a historic hotel at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard, in Hollywood, part of Los Angeles, California. It went up in 1926, during the Golden Era of architecture in Los Angeles, and takes its name from the country's 26th president, Theodore Roosevelt. Among those who put up the money were Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Louis B. Mayer and Sid Grauman, and its doors opened on May 15, 1927.

In the Blossom Ballroom the first Academy Awards were staged, on May 16, 1929: a private event for Academy members only, three months after the winners had been named, with Douglas Fairbanks, the Academy's president, as host and 270 people in the room. The Oscar nickname for the award did not yet exist. The 12-story building holds 300 guest rooms, 63 of them suites, and it sits on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, opposite the TCL Chinese Theatre.

The hotel declined in the 1950s, and an owner of that time pulled down the archways, hid the painted ceilings and repainted the whole hotel. Radisson bought it in 1985 and spent $35 million on a restoration that used old blueprints and photographs of its Spanish Colonial architecture, bringing back the coffered ceiling of the lobby; David Hockney painted the pool mural in 1987. The hotel is a contributing property of the Hollywood Boulevard district listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, and on August 13, 1991 the city made it Historic-Cultural Monument No. 545 of Los Angeles.
