Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Five domes to watch

The five domes dominate the top of the model, and their curves print best at layers of 0.12–0.16 mm. Print friendly detail keeps the smaller domes from rounding off at a small print size; a larger print holds their shape better.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Holy Trinity Cathedral Paris is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Holy Trinity Cathedral Paris takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Holy Trinity Cathedral Paris

Holy Trinity Cathedral is the church of the Russian Orthodox complex on Quai Branly in Paris, which also includes a cultural center, an educational building in University Street and an administration building in Rapp Street. The complex opened on March 19, 2016, by Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo, Russian culture minister Vladimir Medinsky and Moscow Patriarchate representatives. The cathedral serves as headquarters for the Russian Orthodox Diocese of Chersonesus.

Patriarch Alexis II of Moscow proposed the cathedral in 2007, backed by President Nicolas Sarkozy of France and President Vladimir Putin of Russia. A site of 4,000 square meters was bought by the Russian government in February 2010, near the banks of the Seine and a short distance from the Eiffel Tower. The Spanish architect Nunez Yanowsky won the design competition, but the Mayor of Paris and a heritage review objected, and Russia withdrew the project; after François Hollande became president in 2012, Wilmotte's alternate design, which had placed second in the competition, was accepted. Patriarch Kirill inaugurated the cathedral on April 12, 2016.

The design drew chiefly on Moscow's Dormition Cathedral, built in 1475. The big central dome stands for Jesus Christ, and the four smaller ones for the Apostles Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The French company Multiplast built the domes in Vannes from eight fiberglass and thermoplastic panels joined with epoxy resin; the central dome rises twelve meters, measures twelve meters across and weighs eight tons, and its gilding used ninety thousand thin leaves of a gold and platinum alloy.
