2 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A wide, low building
Hangars are broad structures, so the print is mostly large flat surfaces. Print friendly adapts thin parts and small details to the print scale; Full detail keeps every modeled feature on larger prints.
- One piece with the ground
The Hoosier Air Museum Hangar is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Hoosier Air Museum Hangar takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Hoosier Air Museum Hangar
Auburn, Indiana, was the home of the Hoosier Air Museum, which operated from the local DeKalb County Airport. It began with the Hoosier Warbirds, a club of aviation enthusiasts who gathered in October 1991 after a classified advertisement appeared in a local newspaper. Members raised funds for a hangar, and it opened in October 2000.
The museum had a hangar of 10,000 sq ft (930 m2) and, alongside it, an event hall measuring 6,375 sq ft, or 592.3 m2, that included a library. Exhibits covered the Flying Tigers, the Women Airforce Service Pilots, the Tuskegee Airmen and the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, along with a control tower cab and memorabilia that belonged to Robin Olds.
In 2002 it added an AH-1 and a Cadillac Fleetwood. In 2006 it gained a display on the 434th Fighter Squadron, along with two airplanes and four engines, from the Wings of Freedom Museum of Huntington, Indiana. It closed on December 3, 2019, after volunteers ran short and the site proved hard to reach. Kruse Plaza received most of the exhibits, and the National Air and Space Museum received the WR-3 in 2020.
About this model
The Hoosier Air Museum Hangar is one of more than 5,500 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Each model is written as code from public descriptions, plans, photographs and aerial views used only as references; no image or third-party model is copied into it. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. Rights in the building itself, its name and any brands on it are not granted by Mini Skyline; clear them separately before you sell prints. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
