Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Twin lantern towers

The two lantern towers rise above the roof with open sides, slender posts and small hip roofs. On a small print, choose Print friendly so these thin parts adapt; a larger print keeps the open lanterns more legible.

  2. Arcade and balustrades

The ground storey has a tall arcade, and pierced balustrades run along the roof terraces. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm help keep the arches and the balustrade openings clean.

  3. One piece with the ground

The Hotel Nacional de Cuba is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Hotel Nacional de Cuba takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Hotel Nacional de Cuba

The Hotel Nacional de Cuba opened in 1930 and stands in Havana, Cuba. Its style is Spanish eclectic, and it looks out over both the sea and the city from Taganana Hill in the Vedado district, where it faces the sea front.

The New York architecture firm McKim, Mead and White designed the hotel, and financing came from National City Bank of New York, while the U.S. engineering firm Purdy and Henderson built it in fourteen months. The layout follows two Greek crosses, so most rooms face the ocean. The Palladian entrance portico carries two stylized column capitals, and its quoins are coral stone.

Six typical floors hold 74 rooms across 5,912.4 square meters, and the eighth and top floor has 66 rooms. The footprint measures about 159 by 81 meters. A steel frame carries the building. Coral stone appears in the ground-floor details, the columns, the wall facings and the paving.
