  1. Fine details at model scale

The building has small façade details at model scale. Print it larger or at Full detail so they survive, and use 0.12–0.16 mm layers for the vertical edges.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Hotel National, Moscow is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Hotel National, Moscow takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Hotel National, Moscow

The Hotel National is a five-star hotel on Manege Square in Moscow, directly across from the Kremlin. There are 202 bedrooms and 56 suites. A joint-stock company of householders, Varvarinskoe, put up the money, and architect Alexander Ivanov supplied the design. Work started in 1901; the 160-room hotel welcomed guests on January 14, 1903. Some sources give January 1 for the opening, since Russia still followed the Julian calendar, which ran thirteen days behind the Gregorian one.

In March 1918 the first Soviet government made the hotel its home. With the Kremlin damaged in the October 1917 fighting and still being repaired, Lenin and his wife spent seven days in room 107. Other Soviet leaders, including Trotsky and Felix Dzerzhinsky, also stayed, and in 1919 it became the First House of Soviets. By 1931 repairs were needed, and a full renovation followed so it could take foreign guests.

The makeover brought in antiques and museum-quality furniture from Tsarskoye Selo, the Anichkov Palace, and other imperial and noble residences. A socialist realist work of 120 square meters took the place of the mosaic on the upper corner, and in 1932 the hotel took back its original name. A further renovation ran from 1991 to 1995, with the reopening on May 9, 1995.
