Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Layer height for small details

A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps small details crisp. Print friendly adapts thin parts at small sizes; Full detail suits large prints.

  2. One piece with the ground

The House of Soviets (Saint Petersburg) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The House of Soviets (Saint Petersburg) takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the House of Soviets (Saint Petersburg)

The House of Soviets, an office building of the Stalinist style, went up in Saint Petersburg's Moskovsky District (then Leningrad) during the late 1930s. One description calls it "the purest form of totalitarian monumentality". It was meant to house the Soviet Leningrad government's administration, and the site was chosen on the undeveloped southern outskirts, away from downtown, where floods were frequent.

Construction was finished on the eve of World War II, when Nazi forces invaded the Soviet Union, and it never served its intended purpose. Fortified in 1941, it became a local command post of the Red Army while Leningrad was besieged; small reinforced concrete bunkers still stand at several corners. Later it housed a Soviet research institute that designed electronic components for military objects. Engineers there included Alfred Sarant and Joel Barr, two defectors from the US after World War II.

A square in front of the building is called Moscow Square. When the Moskovskaya subway station was built in 1970, the square was remodeled and given a massive Lenin monument designed by Mikhail Anikushin. Fountain features were added in 2006.
