About Humayun's Tomb
Humayun's tomb, called Maqbara-i Humayun in Persian, is the tomb of Humayun, a Mughal emperor, in Delhi, India. Empress Bega Begum, who was the emperor's first wife and chief consort, commissioned it. Sayyid Muhammad and his father, Mirak Mirza Ghiyas, were the Persian architects she personally chose. The tomb sits in Nizamuddin East, Delhi, near Purana Qila (Old Fort), also called the Dina-panah Citadel, which Humayun founded in 1538.
It was the subcontinent's first garden-tomb, and no earlier structure had used red sandstone on such a scale. Construction began in 1565 and ended in 1572. The cost was 1.5 million rupees, all paid by the Empress. UNESCO declared the tomb a World Heritage Site in 1993, and extensive restoration work followed.
The complex is built around a Charbagh garden, a Persian garden type that was new to India. Four promenades radiating out from a central reflection pool divided it into four squares, and the garden spread over 13 hectares around the monument. The design drew on Gur-e Amir, Timur's tomb in Samarkand, and the tomb set a precedent for later Mughal royal mausolea, a line that reached its zenith with the Taj Mahal in Agra.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|

- Corner kiosks and finials
- Four small domed kiosks sit at the roof corners, and a slim finial tops the central dome. Print friendly adapts these thin parts to the print scale; Full detail keeps them. Print slowly for the tips.
- Arches and water channels
- Rows of small arches line the platform, and thin water channels cross the garden. A bigger print size keeps more of them, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the edges crisp.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Humayun's Tomb takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
