143 m of the Koryo Hotel, 41 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Twin towers and bridge
The two equal towers are linked by a high glazed bridge whose thin glazing is the finest part. Print friendly adapts it at small scale; a larger print keeps the bridge and crown posts crisp.
- Round restaurant crowns
Both towers end in projecting circular restaurant crowns with slender necks below. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm and slower printing help these thin rims stay clean.
- One piece with the ground
The Koryo Hotel is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Koryo Hotel takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Koryo Hotel
The Koryo Hotel stands in central Pyongyang, North Korea, a short distance from Pyongyang Station in the Chung-guyok district. Among the hotels that operate in the country it is the second largest, behind the Yanggakdo Hotel. Its twin towers reach 143 meters (469 ft) and hold 43 stories. It went up in 1985, while Kim Il Sung was in charge, and the stated aim was to display the country's glory and strength.
North Korea gives the hotel a five-star rating. Its name comes from Koryo, an early kingdom from which the English word Korea derives. At the entrance, a jade dragon's mouth 9 meters (30 ft) across opens into a large lobby, where a mosaic of North Korean cultural motifs dominates the space. The hotel has 500 rooms.
Amenities include a gym, a swimming pool, a gift shop, a basement casino and two cinemas, one of 200 seats and one of 70. The 45th floor holds a revolving restaurant, and a circular bar sits on the 44th. A revolving restaurant crowns each tower, though only one is open. On June 11, 2015, a fire reportedly broke out in a section of the hotel and badly damaged the bridge between the two buildings.
