70 m of the Kronstadt Naval Cathedral, 21 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A large domed cathedral
A large domed cathedral prints best at a larger size, where the dome and its base stay crisp; 0.12–0.16 mm layers help the vertical edges. Print friendly adapts the smallest details.
- One piece with the ground
The Kronstadt Naval Cathedral is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Kronstadt Naval Cathedral takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Kronstadt Naval Cathedral
The Naval Cathedral of Saint Nicholas stands in Kronstadt as a Russian Orthodox cathedral. It was built between 1903 and 1913 to serve as the Russian Navy's main church, dedicated to all fallen seamen. It closed in 1929 and later housed a cinema, a House of Officers and a museum of the Navy. The cross returned to the main dome in 2002, and in 2013 the cathedral was reconsecrated after a full restoration.
The project began with an international architectural contest. After the winning draft was set aside, Admiral Stepan Makarov invited Vasily Kosyakov, a master of Neo-Byzantine architecture, to take over. Makarov required room for 5,000 worshippers and a design in the Byzantine canon; Kosyakov gave the cathedral a wide dome 26 meters across, closer to Hagia Sophia than to his preferred tall proportions.
The groundbreaking took place on October 27, 1901, on Anchor Square, and the walls were laid on May 8, 1903, with the emperor present. The building was structurally complete in 1907. Its base and columns are clad in black granite, the walls in yellow brick with terra cotta inserts. The cathedral had central heating, a central vacuum cleaning system and 5 thousand light bulbs.
