10 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A temple plan
Columns run around all four sides here, so the separate shafts are the finest detail to preserve. Use Full detail, or print larger, to keep the columns from fusing, and 0.12–0.16 mm layers for the vertical faces.
- One piece with the ground
La Madeleine Church is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. La Madeleine Church takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About La Madeleine Church
La Madeleine, formally the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene, is a Catholic parish church in Paris's eighth arrondissement, on Place de la Madeleine. Louis XV planned it as the centerpiece of the new Rue Royal, which led toward Place Louis XV, later renamed Place de la Concorde. The king dedicated it in 1764, but the French Revolution halted work.
Napoleon Bonaparte had it redesigned in Neoclassical style as a monument to his armies' glory. Construction as a church resumed after he fell in 1814, and the building was not completed until 1842. It was inaugurated on July 24, 1842, on the day of Saint Mary Magdalene. Pierre-Alexandre Vignon's design follows a Greek temple plan, with columns on all four sides; fifty-two Corinthian columns, each 20 meters (66 ft) tall, wrap the building.
The south portal's large bronze doors carry reliefs of the Ten Commandments by Henri de Triqueti, and the pediment holds Philippe Joseph Henri Lemaire's Last Judgment sculpture. Huvé proposed thirty-three statues of saints in niches along the colonnade. Inside are frescoes on the domed ceiling and sculptures by Carlo Marochetti, François Rude and other French artists of the nineteenth century. Frédéric Chopin's funeral took place there on October 30, 1849.
