26 m of Martin-Gropius-Bau, 7 mm on your shelf
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Broad building, wide roof
The building is wide and low, so most of the printed surface is facade and roof rather than height. Print friendly detail keeps the facade edges readable at small sizes; use Full detail for a large print.
- One piece with the ground
Martin-Gropius-Bau is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Martin-Gropius-Bau takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Martin-Gropius-Bau
Martin-Gropius-Bau, usually called Gropius Bau, is an exhibition space in Berlin at 7 Niederkirchnerstraße in Kreuzberg. It began as a museum of applied arts, and it has been listed as a historical monument since 1966. Its rooms surround a tall atrium whose decoration, notably the mosaics and the German states' coats of arms, is by sculptor Otto Lessing.
The building was put up between 1877 and 1881 to designs by Heino Schmieden and Martin Gropius, Walter Gropius's great uncle, in the neo-Renaissance style. The ground plan is square, about 70 m on each side, and the building stands about 26 m high; it opened in 1881.
After World War I it housed the East Asian Art Collection and a museum of prehistory and early history. Severely damaged in 1945, it reopened in 1981 after reconstruction that began in 1978, and was renovated again in 1998 and 1999. Before reunification in 1990 it sat on the East–West boundary, and it has shown work by Ai Weiwei, Anish Kapoor and Paul Klee.
