4 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Dormers and chimneys
A row of dormers and several chimneys break up the steep roof. Print friendly adapts these small parts to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, best on a larger print.
- Fine siding lines and doorway
Fine horizontal lines cover the walls, and a small porch marks the doorway. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the lines crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Merchants and Drovers Tavern is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Merchants and Drovers Tavern takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Merchants and Drovers Tavern
In Rahway, Union County, New Jersey, the Merchants and Drovers Tavern stands at 1632 Saint Georges Avenue. The National Register of Historic Places recognized the tavern on November 21, 1978, naming architecture, commerce and transportation as areas of significance. The tavern sits next to the Rahway Cemetery.
Historians have debated exactly when it was built. Tests on its wooden frame by the Lamont Dougherty Earth Sciences Observatory of Columbia University pointed to building in two separate periods, 1795–1796 and then 1818–1819. The first innkeeper, John Anderson, was licensed to run a tavern only in 1798, after the initial period of building. The place began operating as a hotel around 1825, after an addition raised it from two and a half stories to three and a half.
The Rahway Historical Society, formed in the 1960s, bought the building to stop its destruction and turned it into a center for historical interpretation. Tours and talks led by a museum association cover topics such as the Victorian-era murder of The Unknown Woman, also called Rahway Jane Doe. The building went through significant restoration work throughout most of the 2000s.
