9 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Library detail at print scale
At small print sizes the library's finer detail softens first. Print it larger, or choose Full detail, with 0.12–0.16 mm layers.
- One piece with the ground
The National Library of Russia is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The National Library of Russia takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the National Library of Russia
The National Library of Russia stands in Saint Petersburg; among Russia's three national public libraries, it is the oldest. Its collection is the second largest in Russia, and it serves as the All-Russian center for information, research and culture. Throughout its history it has aimed to collect the nation's printed output comprehensively and to keep its collections freely accessible.
Catherine the Great established the Imperial Public Library in 1795. Its core was the Załuski Library, a famous Polish national collection that Bishop Załuski had built in Warsaw and the Russians seized in 1794, after Poland was partitioned. A site was found where Nevsky Avenue meets Sadovaya Street, in the center of the imperial capital. Construction began at once; the Neoclassical building was designed by Yegor Sokolov and built between 1796 and 1801.
The library was to open to the public in 1812, but the most valuable collections were evacuated during Napoleon's invasion, so its inauguration came two years later. In 1810 Russia's first library law won Alexander I's approval; under it, every piece of printed matter in the country had to be deposited in two copies. It stayed open through the Siege of Leningrad and in 1939 won the Red Banner of Labour decoration.
