About the National Theatre, Warsaw
Poland's monarch Stanisław August Poniatowski established the National Theatre (Teatr Narodowy) of Warsaw in 1765, in the era of the Polish Enlightenment. Its home is the Grand Theatre complex on Theatre Square, which Poland's National Opera also uses.
Starting in 1774, opera, drama and ballet were staged in the Radziwiłł Palace. Krasiński Square housed a new theater building, where performances ran from 1779 to 1833. Wojciech Bogusławski, an entrepreneur, playwright, director, singer and actor of great renown, worked there and is remembered as the father of the Polish National Theatre. At that venue, on March 17, 1830, Chopin gave the first performance of his first piano concerto, Op. 11, in E minor.
The company was closed after the November 1830 Uprising and revived as the National Theatre in 1924 under the Second Polish Republic. Between 1945 and 1989, in the Polish People's Republic, government pressures at times affected the quality of its productions.
About this model
The National Theatre, Warsaw is one of more than 5,500 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. Rights in the building itself, its name and any brands on it are not granted by Mini Skyline; clear them separately before you sell prints. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
