About Varso Tower

Varso, also called Varso Place, is an office complex of neomodern design in Warsaw's Wola district, Poland, where Chmielna Street meets John Paul II Avenue. Foster + Partners designed it, and HB Reavis developed it. Its main building, Varso Tower, stands 310 meters (1,020 feet) tall including its spire, with the roof at 230 meters (750 feet). It overtook Frankfurt's Commerzbank Tower in Germany, the previous record holder at 259 m (850 ft) tall, to become the European Union's tallest building.

The complex has three buildings. The main tower carries an 80-meter (260-foot) spire above its roof, and two smaller buildings, called Varso 1 and Varso 2, are 81 and 90 meters (266 and 295 feet) tall. Foster + Partners was behind the main tower; Varso 1 and Varso 2 came from HRA Architekci. The total area of the complex is 140,000 m² (1,500,000 sq ft). The project was first named Chmielna Business Center, then renamed Varso, a reference to Varsovia, the Latin name for Warsaw.

The original plan was a 130-meter (430 ft) skyscraper, later revised to reach 310 m. In 2011 the Slovak company HB Reavis paid PKP about 171 million złoty for a 1.72 ha (4.3 acres) plot, and construction was estimated to cost around €500 million. The building permit came in December 2016, with work starting the same month. Digging in October 2017 brought up a 60-metric-ton glacial erratic from 10 m (33 ft) down. The last piece of the spire was lifted into place on February 20, 2021, with completion following in September 2022.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 83 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 104 mm 1:3,000
256 mm 133 mm 1:2,344

Long thin spire
A long, thin spire tops the tower. Print friendly adapts thin parts like this to your print scale; Full detail keeps it, best printed slowly with good cooling and 0.12 to 0.16 mm layers.
Narrow tower with vertical fins
The tower is tall and narrow, with fine vertical fins down its sides and a stepped crown. A larger print keeps these details easier to read.
One piece with the ground
Varso Tower is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Varso Tower takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About this model

Varso Tower is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.

Common questions

Is there a Varso Tower STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Varso Tower grows with the print: about 83 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
