Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Tall tower, slow printing

A tall tower puts a lot of height on a small footprint. Print slowly with cooling on, and use Full detail on a larger print to keep small details, or Print friendly for small prints.

  2. Fine layers for vertical lines

A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps vertical edges crisp.

  3. One piece with the ground

One Shell Plaza is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. One Shell Plaza takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About One Shell Plaza

Downtown Houston, Texas, is home to 910 Louisiana, the skyscraper formerly known as One Shell Plaza. It is a 50-story tower, 218 m (715 ft) tall, at 910 Louisiana Street. When it was completed in 1971, it was the tallest tower in the city. The architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill designed it, with Wilson, Morris, Crain & Anderson as associate architects and Sasaki Associates as landscape architects.

Two other Skidmore, Owings & Merrill buildings have very similar designs: Republic Plaza in Denver and Hancock Whitney Center in New Orleans. Shell Oil was a major tenant of the New Orleans building too. Shell Oil Company was headquartered in the Houston tower until 2016, and the law firm Baker Botts has been a tenant since the building opened in 1971. The Houston Club occupies the 49th floor. A renovation in 1994 cost $80 million and brought an updated lobby and plaza, along with elevator modernization and new lighting.

Since the tower was completed, a 170 ft mast on top has carried television and radio signals. When Allied Bank Plaza and Texas Commerce Tower were completed in 1982–1983, they created a skyscraper canyon that caused multipath distortion, which necessitated moving to an antenna farm in Missouri City. The tower also served as the fictional "World Building" in the NBC soap opera Another World.

About this model

One Shell Plaza is one of more than 5,500 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Each model is written as code from public descriptions, plans, photographs and aerial views used only as references; no image or third-party model is copied into it. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. Rights in the building itself, its name and any brands on it are not granted by Mini Skyline; clear them separately before you sell prints. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
