About Örebro Castle

In Örebro, Sweden, stands Örebro Castle (Örebro slott), a medieval castle that lies on an island within the river Svartån. The House of Vasa expanded it, and the years around 1900 brought extensive rebuilding. The name Örebro comes from "ör", the small stones the river carries, and "bro", meaning bridge.

The oldest part of the castle is a defense tower. In 1364 Albrecht von Mecklenburg captured a fortress in Örebro, probably a predecessor of the castle that stands on the small island, and thought to have been a tower inside a surrounding wall. In the 14th century, more was added to the tower to make a larger stronghold.

King Charles IX of Sweden had the fortress rebuilt as a Renaissance castle. The governor of Örebro County has lived there since 1764. The castle has had cultural heritage status since January 25, 1935, and the National Property Board of Sweden owns it.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Landmark height and scale at three print sizes
Print size Landmark height Scale
160 mm default 13 mm 1:3,750
200 mm 16 mm 1:3,000

Round corner towers
Four round towers with domed caps and small finials stand at the corners. Print friendly adapts the thin finials to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print.
Water on every side
The island is ringed by river water and small bridges. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps the shoreline and the narrow bridges crisp.
One piece with the ground
Örebro Castle is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Örebro Castle takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions

Is there a Örebro Castle STL I can download?

Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.

How big can I print it?

Any print size from 40 mm across. Örebro Castle grows with the print: about 13 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.

Is it free?

Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
