About the Padmanabhaswamy Temple
Dedicated to Vishnu, the Padmanabhaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Keralam, India. The temple is one of 108 Divya Desams, regarded as sacred sites by the Sri Vaishnava tradition. Its main deity, Anantha Padmanabhaswamy, is a form of Vishnu shown in yogic sleep on the serpent Shesha, his mount. He is also the Travancore royal family's tutelary deity.
The temple has a seven-tier gopuram in the Pandyan style, 30 m (100 ft) high, and the foundation of the present gopuram was built in 1566. Beside the temple lies a tank called Padma Theertham, which means Lotus Spring. A corridor with 365 and one-quarter sculpted granite pillars, all elaborately carved, runs from the eastern side to the sanctum. A flagstaff 24 m (80 ft) tall is positioned before the main entrance.
In the main shrine, Padmanabha reclines on the serpent Anantha, also called Adi Sesha, whose five hoods face inward, intended to signify contemplation. Sridevi-Lakshmi and Bhudevi, two consorts of Vishnu, are at his side, and Brahma is shown emerging on a lotus from the deity's navel. The idol is made from saligramams that come from the Gandaki River's banks in Nepal. Ugra Narasimha has the Thekkedom shrine, and Krishna Swami the Thiruvambadi shrine.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 160 mm default | 9 mm | 1:3,750 |
| 200 mm | 11 mm | 1:3,000 |

- Many-tiered gateway tower
- The gateway tower rises in many fine tiers. Print friendly adapts these small steps to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the tiers crisp.
- Slim flagstaff and finials
- A thin flagstaff and a few slim finials stand inside the courtyard. Print slowly with good cooling so these narrow tips form cleanly, and choose a larger print size to keep them.
- One piece with the ground
- The Padmanabhaswamy Temple is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Padmanabhaswamy Temple takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions
Is there a Padmanabhaswamy Temple STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. The Padmanabhaswamy Temple grows with the print: about 9 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
