6 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Print the palace large
A palace of this size carries much of its detail close to the roofline. Print it larger, or set Landmark detail to Print friendly so small features are adapted to the print scale.
- One piece with the ground
The Palais Galliera is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Palais Galliera takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Palais Galliera
The Palais Galliera, on avenue Pierre 1er de Serbie at number 10, is Paris's museum of fashion and its history. It was built for the Duchesse de Galliera, Maria Brignole Sale De Ferrari, who inherited her husband's fortune. She chose to use their Paris land for a museum paid for from her own money. Work began in 1879 under the architect Léon Ginain, who also oversaw it. The museum was still unfinished when the duchess died in December 1888. Her heirs gave the city 1.3 million francs in May 1889, and Ginain finished the building in February 1894.
A notary's mistake shaped its history. The deed was accepted by presidential decree on August 30, 1879, but it gave the land to Paris rather than to the French state, and the gift remained as written. The palace stands across from Brignole Galliera Square, just north of the Palais de Tokyo. Its stone front is Italian Renaissance in style, carried on a steel frame made by the Eiffel Company. Inside are mosaic floors and domes by Giandomenico Facchina; outside, three sculpted figures stand for Painting, Architecture, and Sculpture.
Since 1977 the city has run the palace as a permanent museum of fashion. Costume and French design from the eighteenth century onward are displayed there, drawn from a collection of about 70,000 pieces that includes clothes owned by Marie-Antoinette and the Empress Josephine. After a major renovation, the museum reopened on September 28, 2013.
