About Rashtrapati Bhavan

Rashtrapati Bhavan, meaning "President's House", serves as the President of India's official residence. It stands at the western end of Rajpath on Raisina Hill in New Delhi. It was earlier called Viceroy's House, from 1931 to 1947, and then Government House, from 1947 to 1950. Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker designed it in the Delhi Order, a style based on Indo-Saracenic architecture. Work started in 1912 and finished in 1929. After India became a Republic, the building was renamed Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The main building has four floors and a basement, with 340 rooms, covering 200,000 square meters (2,200,000 sq ft) of floor area, plus 2.50 kilometers of corridors. It is H-shaped and sits within a 130-hectare (320-acre) presidential estate with gardens, open spaces, staff residences, stables and offices. It is described as the world's largest official residence of a head of state, by total floor area.

Builders used 700 million bricks and 85,000 m3 (3,000,000 cu ft) of stone, with little steel. Indian elements include a chhajja, a thin eave projecting 2.4 m (8 feet) from the walls, which blocks harsh sunlight and heavy monsoon rain, and chuttris along the roofline. Twelve massive columns, unevenly spaced, stand on the east front, topped with Delhi Order capitals. This was a "nonce order" that Lutyens invented for the building, joining acanthus leaves with four pendant Indian bells.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Roof pavilions and dome mast
Small pavilions dot the roofline, and a thin mast rises from the central dome. Print friendly adapts these small parts to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print or a fine nozzle.
Row of tall columns
A row of tall, slim columns marks the east front. A bigger print size keeps more of them, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the columns crisp.
One piece with the ground
Rashtrapati Bhavan is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Rashtrapati Bhavan takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
