About Sahara Las Vegas
Sahara Las Vegas, a hotel and casino, is in Winchester, Nevada, along the Las Vegas Strip. It anchors the northern end of the Strip, on the corner with Sahara Avenue, and the northernmost Las Vegas Monorail station is on the site. Its 1,616 hotel rooms are joined by a casino of 4,706.7 m2 (50,662 sq ft).
The resort debuted as the Sahara on October 7, 1952, and had an African theme. Of the resorts on the Strip, it was the sixth to open. Del E. Webb Construction Company built it, Max Maltzman was the architect, and Milton Prell had already opened a casino called Club Bingo on the site in 1947. Martin Stern Jr. later designed several additions, among them a 14-story tower dating to 1960, then the tallest building in Nevada, and a 24-story tower that opened in 1963. Las Vegas's first Olympic-size pool was part of the original resort.
The name has changed over the years. The Sahara name was used from 1952 to 2011, and the resort closed on May 16, 2011. After a complete renovation that began in 2013, it reopened on August 23, 2014, as the SLS Las Vegas. The Meruelo Group bought it in 2018, and on August 29, 2019 the property became Sahara Las Vegas.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 650 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
| Print size | Landmark height | Scale |

- Slim pole by the canopy
- A slender vertical pole stands beside the round canopy at the front. Print friendly adapts thin parts to the print scale, and printing slowly with good cooling helps tall thin parts hold up.
- Window rows on the towers
- The tower faces carry rows of small window details. A larger print size or Full detail keeps them, and a layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps the vertical detail crisp.
- One piece with the ground
- Sahara Las Vegas is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Sahara Las Vegas takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
Sahara Las Vegas is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
Common questions
Is there a Sahara Las Vegas STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. Sahara Las Vegas grows with the print: about 24 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
