Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Curved roofs and tower

Curved roofs and a tall tower are the parts most likely to lose their shape in a small print. Print friendly detail adapts thin sections, and a larger print keeps the curves smooth.

  2. Layers for round forms

Use layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm for the curved roofs and tower stages, and print slowly if the upper section is narrow.

  3. One piece with the ground

Saint Andrew's Cathedral (Saint Petersburg) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Saint Andrew's Cathedral (Saint Petersburg) takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Saint Andrew's Cathedral (Saint Petersburg)

Saint Andrew's Cathedral is a Baroque cathedral in Saint Petersburg and the last one of that style built in the city. The cathedral was planned in Peter the Great's time as a chapter church for Russia's first chivalric order, the Order of Saint Andrew. Nicodemus Tessin the Younger was asked for a church modeled on St Paul's Cathedral in London, longer than 430 feet. Tessin submitted his designs after the tsar's death, and the costly project was suspended.

A modest timber church, consecrated on October 8, 1732, came first. As the congregation grew, Giuseppe Trezzini designed a stone church founded on July 2, 1740, but decoration delayed its consecration until 1760. The wooden cathedral burned after a lightning strike on July 4, 1761. Alexander Whist then designed a new stone cathedral, founded on July 18, 1764. Its cupola collapsed in 1766, and the pastel pink cathedral, topped by five domes, was not consecrated until March 21, 1780.

A pyramidal bell tower with two tiers, joined to the church by a refectory, dates from 1784 to 1786 and once held ten bells, the largest weighing more than four tons. After the 1917 Russian Revolution, the Bolsheviks confiscated many of the church's valuables. The cathedral was closed on May 16, 1938, and its bells were destroyed. In 1992 the cathedral was returned to the Russian Orthodox Church.
