13 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Fine detail on a stone church
Much of this church's detail sits in its wall surfaces and openings, which shrink quickly at small print sizes. Print larger, or use Print friendly so thin parts adapt; layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the edges crisp.
- A broad church footprint
The building makes a wide base, so the model reads best at a larger size, where wall edges and the roof line stay distinct.
- One piece with the ground
Saint-François-Xavier, Paris is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Saint-François-Xavier, Paris takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Saint-François-Xavier, Paris
St Francis Xavier is a Catholic parish church in Paris, in the 7th arrondissement. Its dedication is to the missionary saint Francis Xavier. The parish adopted his name in 1842, when the chapel on rue du Bac had grown too small for the seminarians and parishioners who shared it. A new church went up from 1861, one of many built in the city under Emperor Louis Napoleon's program, which ran alongside Haussmann's rebuilding of Paris.
The site was picked to sit at a junction of Haussmann's new boulevards, and the church was meant to end the view along one of them. Adrien Lusson began the building; Joseph Uchard then took charge and got the planners to widen the west front, leaving room for a proper portal. The outside was complete on July 15, 1874, and the consecration followed on May 23, 1894.
The exterior takes its cues from Italian Renaissance basilicas, and a hidden iron frame let the builders use lighter walls, gain interior space and cut larger windows. Two lower aisles run beside the nave, divided from it by massive pillars with Corinthian capitals; Charles Lemeire painted the dome in the Neo-Byzantine style. The church holds Madeleine Sophie Barat's tomb and Italian Baroque and Mannerist paintings, among them Tintoretto's The Last Supper. It became a historic monument in 2018.
