Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Facade rows at scale

A large residence carries long rows of windows and wall detail that soften first at a small size. Print friendly adapts them; Full detail keeps them for a larger print or a finer nozzle.

  2. Layers for straight walls

Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep long wall lines and corners crisp.

  3. One piece with the ground

Saint Michael's Castle is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Saint Michael's Castle takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Saint Michael's Castle

Saint Michael's Castle, a former royal residence, stands in the historic center of Saint Petersburg, Russia. Emperor Paul I had it built by the architects Vincenzo Brenna and Vasily Bazhenov between 1797 and 1801. The name honors the Archangel Michael, patron saint of the royal family. Each side of the building looks different, because the architects mixed French Classicism, the Italian Renaissance and Gothic motifs.

It was built south of the Summer Garden, on the site once occupied by a small wooden palace belonging to Empress Elizabeth Petrovna. Paul disliked the Winter Palace and feared plots against him. Because of that fear, and his fascination with medieval knights, the new residence was laid out as a castle, with an octagonal courtyard at its center. The Moika and Fontanka rivers and two dug canals surrounded the building, turning the site into an artificial island reached by drawbridges.

Construction began on March 9, 1797, and the castle was consecrated on November 8, 1800, the Eastern Orthodox feast of St Michael, with interior work continuing until March 1801. Paul was assassinated in his own bedroom on March 12, 1801, only 40 nights after moving in. The building later passed into the hands of the army's Main Engineering School and became known as the Engineers' Castle.
