Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Dome above a long block

The dome is the highest part of the model, sitting over a long, symmetrical block. Print it large enough for the dome to read, and keep Full detail so its surface stays sharp.

  2. Flat rows of windows

The front is a wide, flat arrangement of window rows and cornices. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep those horizontal lines crisp, and Print friendly adapts the smallest pieces at small sizes.

  3. One piece with the ground

San Francisco City Hall is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. San Francisco City Hall takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About San Francisco City Hall

San Francisco City Hall, in California, houses the city and county government. It opened in 1915 in the Civic Center. The design is Beaux-Arts, a monument to the City Beautiful movement, which epitomized the American Renaissance that ran from the 1880s to 1917. An earlier City Hall, destroyed in the 1906 earthquake, stood two blocks away, and this building replaced it.

Arthur Brown, Jr., of Bakewell & Brown, was the principal architect, and his attention to finishing details reached the doorknobs and the typeface used on signs. The building occupies two full city blocks, with over 46,000 m2 (500,000 square feet) of open space. Its dome, which draws on Mansart's Baroque domes at the Val-de-Grâce and Les Invalides in Paris, stands 93.7 m (307.5 ft) high above the Civic Center Historic District and measures 34 m (112 ft) across.

The exterior is Madera County granite, with Indiana sandstone inside, and Henri Crenier made much of the statuary. Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe held their wedding at City Hall in January 1954. The Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989 twisted the dome four inches on its base, and after a seismic upgrade the building came back into use in January 1999.
