15 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A long, broad church
The church reads as a long rectangle rather than a tower. Print it larger, or use Full detail, with layers at 0.12–0.16 mm to keep the roof edges and wall faces crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Santa Chiara, Naples is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Santa Chiara, Naples takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Santa Chiara, Naples
The Santa Chiara complex in Naples contains a church, a monastery, a group of tombs and an archeological museum. Its basilica faces the Via Benedetto Croce, the easternmost leg of the Via Spaccanapoli, set diagonally opposite the Gesù Nuovo church. Queen Sancha of Majorca and King Robert of Naples, her husband, built the double monastic complex in 1313–1340; Robert is buried there. The first church was in the Gotico Angioino style and received a Baroque decoration in the 17th century from Domenico Antonio Vaccaro.
The church is a rectangle, 110.5 m long inside its walls and 33 m wide, with nave walls 47.5 m tall and a nave 82 m long. Nine chapels line each side, their vaulted roofs supporting a gallery, with lancet windows in the clerestory above. The chapels merge into the church's main body, so the plan reads as a plain rectangle without an apse. No Clarissan church was larger, and it was the first in which the nuns could watch Mass from their choir. Robert's tomb stands behind the main altar, and the detached bell tower was begun in 1328 and finished in the Renaissance.
A fire after Allied bombing in World War II partly destroyed the building; a disputed restoration, completed in 1953, returned it to its supposed original state. The cloister is known for majolica tiles added in 1742 by Vaccaro in the Rococo style, set among octagonal columns in a pergola-like structure. The museum covers the church's history, archaeological finds and material left after the 1943 fire, and holds a collection of Baroque presepi.
