About the Security Building
The Security Building stands in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. It was finished in 1928, and its National Register of Historic Places listing came in 1985. It was built for the Security Improvement Company, a firm led by Dwight B. Heard, a well-known Phoenix realtor. From 1897 until he died in 1929, Heard ranked among the state's most powerful men: he owned a cattle company, an investment company and a newspaper, the Arizona Republican.
Curlett & Beelman designed the building, and the regional contractors Edwards, Wildey and Dixon built it. Its architecture is Second Renaissance Revival, built with copper and bricks molded by hand over a reinforced concrete structure. Inside are marble floors and walls and brass elevator doors.
Over the years it housed the headquarters of produce growers and law firms. In 1958 a ninth-floor penthouse apartment was added, where Walter R. Bimson, chairman of the Valley National Bank of Arizona, lived. Maricopa County acquired the property in 2001, and historical renovations to restore the building began in 2005.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Rooftop penthouse and cupola
- A small penthouse, stair and slim cupola with a spike sit on the roof. Print friendly adapts the thin spike to the print scale; Full detail at a larger size keeps it, and slow, cooled printing helps.
- One piece with the ground
- The Security Building is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Security Building takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

Common questions
Is there a Security Building STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. The Security Building grows with the print: about 16 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
