Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. The tallest thing on the plate

The tower stands far above everything else in this model, so print it slowly with good cooling. Layers of 0.12–0.16 mm keep its vertical edges crisp.

  2. One piece with the ground

The Shanghai World Financial Center is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Shanghai World Financial Center takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About the Shanghai World Financial Center

The Shanghai World Financial Center is a supertall skyscraper in the Pudong district of Shanghai. Kohn Pedersen Fox designed it and the Mori Building Company developed it, with Leslie E. Robertson Associates as structural engineer. It mixes offices, hotel rooms, conference space and a ground-level shopping mall. It was topped out on September 14, 2007, reaching 492 meters (1,614.2 ft), which made it the second tallest building in the world when it was completed, the world's tallest by roof height alone, and the tallest in mainland China. It opened on August 28, 2008.

Its signature move is a trapezoid opening at the top. The first design put a circular hole 46 m (151 ft) across at the top, which would have eased the strain that wind puts on the structure and echoed the Chinese idea of the sky as a circle. Protests followed, among them from Shanghai's mayor Chen Liangyu, who thought it too close to Japan's rising-sun flag. On October 18, 2005, Kohn Pedersen Fox sent Mori Building an alternative with a trapezoidal hole instead. People call it "the bottle opener", and the gift shop sells metal replicas that work as one.

Three observation decks sit above and below the opening: 423 m (1,388 ft) on the 94th floor, 439 m (1,440 ft) on the 97th, and 474 m (1,555 ft) on the 100th. The Park Hyatt Shanghai has 174 rooms and suites on the 79th to 93rd floors. In 2008 architects named the tower the year's best-completed skyscraper, and with the Jin Mao and Shanghai towers it makes the first adjacent group of three supertall skyscrapers in the world.
