15 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Tall bell tower
A tall bell tower is narrow, with small openings near the top. Print friendly detail adapts the thin top and its openings to the print scale; Full detail keeps them for a larger print.
- Broad front and roof line
A large church print has a broad front with the roof running behind it. A larger print and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the facade detail crisp.
- One piece with the ground
The Shrine of the Virgin of the Rosary of Pompei is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Shrine of the Virgin of the Rosary of Pompei takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Shrine of the Virgin of the Rosary of Pompei
The Shrine of the Virgin of the Rosary in Pompei is a Catholic cathedral, Marian shrine and pontifical minor basilica. It is the cathedral seat of the Territorial Prelature of Pompei. Bartolo Longo and his wife, Countess Mariana di Fusco, commissioned and co-founded it. Pope Benedict XVI presented the shrine with a Golden Rose in 2008.
In October 1873, Longo began restoring a church that had fallen into disrepair, and he organized a festival for Our Lady of the Rosary. He obtained a painting of her from a Naples convent in 1875, and raised money to have it restored. The cornerstone of a larger church was laid on May 8, 1876; consecration followed on May 7, 1891.
Antonio Cua designed the first church, a Latin cross building of 420 square meters (4,500 sq ft). To accommodate growing pilgrim numbers, one aisle became three in an expansion between 1934 and 1939. The enlarged building covers 2,000 square meters (22,000 sq ft) and holds up to 6,000 people. A statue of Our Lady of the Rosary, carved from one block of Carrara marble, tops the facade, and the bell tower reaches 80 meters (260 ft).
