8 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- A wave-shaped roof
The roof is a central feature of the station's design, with an undulating form. Print friendly adapts thin edges to the print scale; a larger print or Full detail keeps more of the roof shape, and a 0.12–0.16 mm layer height helps its curves print cleanly.
- One piece with the ground
Southern Cross railway station is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Southern Cross railway station takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Southern Cross railway station
Southern Cross is a large railway station in Docklands, Melbourne. It faces Spencer Street, between Collins Street and La Trobe Street, on the western edge of Melbourne's central business district. The station opened in 1859 as Spencer Street station, five years after Flinders Street, the city's other major rail terminus. It was renamed Southern Cross on December 13, 2005; the state government had announced the new name in 2001.
Trains of the regional network run by V/Line end here, along with The Overland to Adelaide and the NSW TrainLink XPT to Sydney. Metro Trains runs the suburban services, and it links to the underground City Loop and to Flinders Street station. A coach terminal lies underneath the Spencer Outlet shopping complex.
The Civic Nexus consortium redeveloped the station. Grimshaw Architects and Jackson Architecture designed the new building, which has an undulating, wave-shaped roof. Work started in October 2002 and ended in late 2006, and most of the transport facilities were ready for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. The Royal Institute of British Architects gave it its Lubetkin Prize for the most outstanding building beyond the European Union.
About this model
Southern Cross railway station is one of more than 5,500 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Each model is written as code from public descriptions, plans, photographs and aerial views used only as references; no image or third-party model is copied into it. Everything around it is built from OpenStreetMap and Overture map data. Rights in the building itself, its name and any brands on it are not granted by Mini Skyline; clear them separately before you sell prints. If you would rather print the shape from map data, turn off Landmark models in the Buildings settings.
