Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Small lantern room

The lantern and railing at the top are tiny details on a short tower. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print. A layer height of 0.12-0.16 mm keeps the top crisp.

  2. Hillside terrain

The tower sits on sloping ground with narrow paths. A bigger print size keeps the paths and the tower sharp.

  3. One piece with the ground

Stony Point Light is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  4. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  5. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Stony Point Light takes the building color.

  6. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About Stony Point Light

The oldest lighthouse along the Hudson River, Stony Point Light, is in Stony Point, New York, inside the Stony Point Battlefield. Thomas Phillips built it in 1826 to steer ships clear of the rocks off the Stony Point peninsula. The Erie Canal had been completed a year earlier, linking New York City to the country's heartland, and river traffic on the Hudson grew sharply as a result, so navigational aids were urgently needed.

The tower is shaped like an octagonal pyramid and is built entirely of stone. It served for nearly 100 years under a series of keepers, the best known being the Rose family. Their home is on the Historic Register as well. The light was decommissioned in 1925, and the parks commission acquired the property in 1941.

Its National Register of Historic Places listing dates from 1979. A restoration began in 1986, with the exterior repaired and painted and the lantern reglazed. It finished on October 7, 1995, when the light was lit again after 70 years dark. The light is automatic and solar-powered, flashing once every four seconds.
