About Suncoast Hotel and Casino

The Suncoast hotel and casino, at 9090 Alta Drive, is in Las Vegas, Nevada, and sits on 50 acres (20 ha). Work began in July 1999. The doors opened on September 12, 2000. A fireworks show lasting five minutes and costing $75,000 marked the occasion. At first only one half of the 10-story hotel building was finished, with 203 rooms. Because room occupancy ran high, an $11 million expansion in 2001 completed the other half.

Announced in July 1998, the project was first called the Sundance, with a price tag of $145 million, and was to rise on the northwest side, at the corner where Rampart Boulevard meets Alta Drive. A copyright conflict with the Sundance Film Festival led to the new name, Suncoast, in February 1999. Michael Gaughan's Coast Resorts owned the project, and Boyd Gaming later bought Coast Resorts in 2004. The 10-story hotel tower reached its top on March 22, 2000, and an American flag was placed above it.

The resort opened with a Mediterranean theme. The casino measured 7,200 m2 (78,000 sq ft), with 48 table games, a bingo hall of 600 seats and a large race and sportsbook. The resort also had 2,300 m2 (25,000 sq ft) of convention space, a 64-lane bowling alley and a movie multiplex that opened on September 15, 2000. A moving walkway linked the casino with a parking garage of 5,000 spaces.

How it prints

Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

Domed rotundas and small roofs
Several small domes and pitched roofs cluster in the middle of the building. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; a larger print size keeps more of them.
Long, thin colonnade
A long, slim colonnade reaches out from one side of the building. Print slowly with good cooling, and use layers of 0.12–0.16 mm to keep its thin posts crisp.
One piece with the ground
Suncoast Hotel and Casino is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Suncoast Hotel and Casino takes the building color.
File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
