About The Breakers
The Breakers, a Gilded Age mansion, stands at 44 Ochre Point Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island. Cornelius Vanderbilt II, of the wealthy Vanderbilt family, had it built as his summer home between 1893 and 1895. Richard Morris Hunt designed the mansion in the Renaissance Revival style, and the interior was decorated by Jules Allard and Sons together with Ogden Codman Jr. The entrance on Ochre Point Avenue is marked by baroque gates of forged wrought iron.
The house has 70 rooms and a gross area of 12,850 square meters (138,300 square feet), of which 5,804.8 square meters (62,482 square feet) is living area on five floors. Its footprint covers about 0.4 hectares (one acre) of a 5.7-hectare (14-acre) estate on cliffs that look out over Easton Bay of the Atlantic Ocean. A limestone-and-iron fence, 3.7 m (12 feet) high, borders the property on every side except the ocean side.
Vanderbilt bought the grounds in 1885. The earlier mansion there, owned by Pierre Lorillard IV, burned down on November 25, 1892, and Vanderbilt then commissioned Hunt to rebuild it. Vanderbilt insisted on making the new building as fireproof as possible, so its structure combines masonry and steel trusses, and no part of it is wooden. On completion in 1895 it was the largest and most opulent house around Newport. The National Register of Historic Places listed it in 1971, and it became a National Historic Landmark in 1994.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Chimneys and small dormers
- Slim chimneys and small dormers stand on the sloping roof. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps every one, which suits a larger print or a fine nozzle.
- Shallow arched loggias
- The facade has shallow arched loggias with balustrades. A bigger print size keeps more of the arches, and layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep their edges crisp.
- One piece with the ground
- The Breakers is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Breakers takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About this model
The Breakers is one of more than 2,300 landmark models in Mini Skyline. They are made with AI, and each one is checked from four sides in its real surroundings before release. Common questions
Is there a The Breakers STL I can download?
Mini Skyline builds the file for you in your browser and exports 3MF, which every major slicer opens. If you need an STL, open the 3MF in your slicer and export it from there.
How big can I print it?
Any print size from 40 mm across. The Breakers grows with the print: about 7 mm tall on the default 160 mm print. For a model larger than your printer bed, Project Mode splits the area into tiles.
Is it free?
Yes. Generation runs in your browser, with no account and nothing behind a paywall.
