About the Yanks Air Museum Hangars
Chino Airport in Chino, California, is the base of the Yanks Air Museum, an aviation museum. Its mission is to exhibit, preserve and restore American aircraft and artifacts, so that the evolution of American aviation can be seen. The collection also includes some very rare types.
Its holdings of American aircraft are among the largest and most historically significant, with World War II fighters and dive and torpedo bombers. The collection starts with the 1903 Wright Flyer, the only replica among its aircraft, and runs through the 1980s with the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the F-15 Eagle and the Blue Angels F/A-18 Hornet. It exceeds 190 aircraft, some of them the last survivors of their types. All are restored to airworthy condition using only original factory specifications and materials.
At Chino, 176,000 square feet (16,400 m2) is under roof, spread over 10 acres (40,000 m2). Visitors can enter the main restoration hangar and the boneyard, where historic aircraft are in different stages of restoration, but only under supervision. Rare World War II types on display include the P-51A Mustang, the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, the Lockheed P-38 Lightning and the Grumman F6F Hellcat, and many of these were built in Southern California.
How it prints
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

- Low, wide sheds
- The hangars are low and wide, so the print is flat and broad. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep the gabled roof lines crisp.
- Small roof details
- Tiny vents and openings sit on some of the roofs. Print friendly adapts them to the print scale; Full detail keeps them, which suits a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
- The Yanks Air Museum Hangars is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
- In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
- Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Yanks Air Museum Hangars takes the building color.
- File format
- You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
