9 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Facade detail at scale
Print at a larger size, or use Print friendly, so repeated facade details stay distinct.
- Layers for the roofline
Keep layers at 0.12 to 0.16 mm for the roofline and entrance details.
- One piece with the ground
The Zoological Museum (Saint Petersburg) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The Zoological Museum (Saint Petersburg) takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the Zoological Museum (Saint Petersburg)
The Zoological Museum is part of the Zoological Institute, which sits within the Russian Academy of Sciences, and it is devoted to zoology. It stands in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on the Universitetskaya Embankment, and counts among the ten largest natural history museums anywhere in the world. Its specimens came from Peter the Great's Kunstkamera, and in 1724 the museum joined the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In 1832 the zoological collection was separated from the Kunstkamera, and in 1896 it moved nearby to its present location: the one-time southern warehouse of the city's bourse, a building put up from 1826 to 1832. The Zoological Institute was created inside the Academy of Sciences in 1931, with the museum placed under it.
The front hall holds Karl Ernst von Baer's monument, skeletons of cetaceans that include a blue whale 27 m (89 ft) long, and mounted pinnipeds. The entomological collection is displayed in the gallery above. A long passage runs through the second and third halls, with systematic collections and dioramas from the early 20th century: fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds and invertebrates in the second, and mammals such as woolly mammoths in the third.
