7 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 650 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Arcade of round-headed arches
A ring of round-headed arches wraps the outside, springing from flared piers that carry the roof beams above. Print larger, or use Full detail, so the openings stay open and the arch curves read.
- Scalloped vault roof
The roof is a ring of radial barrel vaults, scalloped along the top and round its front edge, with beams cantilevered over the upper tier. Layers of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keep those curves clean.
- One piece with the ground
Zayed Sports City Stadium is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Zayed Sports City Stadium takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Zayed Sports City Stadium
Zayed Sports City Stadium lies in Zayed Sports City, part of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. It is the largest stadium in the country. Its image appeared on the AED 200 banknote, and the arched exterior is carried into the venue's own logo. A renovation in 2009 upgraded much of the fabric and the amenities so that the ground met international standards and could serve a wide range of events.
Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, president of the UAE at the time, wanted the project, and in 1974 the Town Planning Department was told to plan a full sports complex to high international standards in Abu Dhabi. The ground came first in that programme: 60,000 seats were built, along with fencing around the site, utility services and a road network inside it. Completion came in 1979 at a cost of AED 550 million, and the ground was inaugurated in January 1980. The ground offered a full-size grass pitch with athletics facilities, an electronic board, a sound system and electronic irrigation.
Later work, including hospitality areas and two scoreboards fitted at the end zones in 2003, brought capacity down to 43,791 public seats. Two levels hold 42,355 general entry seats, plus 1,436 in hospitality and 277 for media. Populous led the renovation ahead of the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup, adding team locker rooms and pitch lighting, and ISG was the contractor. Among the events held there are the 1996 AFC Asian Cup and its final, the semifinals and finals of the 2009 and 2010 Club World Cups, that competition again in 2017 and 2018, and the opening and final of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup.
