23 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Angled window facets
The facade is made of many windows tilted at slightly different angles, giving a rough, faceted surface. Print friendly smooths them for the print scale; Full detail keeps every facet on a large print.
- One piece with the ground
100 Eleventh Avenue is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 100 Eleventh Avenue takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About 100 Eleventh Avenue
100 Eleventh Avenue is a residential tower where 19th Street meets Eleventh Avenue, also called the West Side Highway, in Manhattan. The developers, Craig Wood and Curtis Bashaw, commissioned the French architect Jean Nouvel, working with Beyer Blinder Belle as executive architects. It was completed in 2010, and DeSimone Consulting Engineers was the structural engineer.
Nouvel called it "a vision machine". Its curtain wall is among the most technologically advanced in New York City, yet it also nods to West Chelsea's masonry industrial architecture. The largest unitized modules in the facade are 3.7 by 11.3 m (12 by 37 feet). Stainless steel frames hold 32 different window sizes, and every window tilts 2 to 5 degrees, whether up, down, left or right.
The tower sits at the far western edge of Manhattan. Frank Gehry's IAC Building faces it across the street, and the Bayview Correctional Facility abuts it. Hudson Yards, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Meatpacking District and Chelsea Market are nearby, as are Chelsea Piers, Little Island and Hudson River Park. Its conceptual ancestor is the Arab World Institute in Paris, by Nouvel.
