12 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Crenellated tower and turrets
The round corner tower and small turrets end in thin crenellations. Print friendly adapts these small teeth; Full detail keeps them and suits a larger print. Print slowly near the tower top.
- Wide curved drill-hall roof
A long, curved roof spans the big hall behind the front. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps the curve smooth and the roof ribs distinct.
- One piece with the ground
The 23rd Regiment Armory is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The 23rd Regiment Armory takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the 23rd Regiment Armory
The 23rd Regiment Armory, also called the Bedford Atlantic Armory, is a National Guard armory at 1322 Bedford Avenue (the block from Pacific Street to Atlantic Avenue), in Brooklyn's Crown Heights neighborhood. It is a castle-like structure of brick and stone, designed to recall medieval military buildings in Europe. The designers were the Brooklyn firm Fowler & Hough and Isaac Perry, the state's architect, who worked in the Romanesque Revival style, and it was built from 1891 to 1895.
It was built for a New York State Militia unit, the 23rd Regiment, which began in 1861 as a relief guard attached to the 13th Regiment. It mustered in as the 23rd in 1862 and spent one month of 1863 in the Civil War. Worries about how ready volunteer militia were led to the 1862 Armory Law, which called for armories to be built across the state. The regiment moved to an armory on Clermont Avenue in Fort Greene, built in 1872–1873, but soon outgrew it.
Halstead P. Fowler, of Fowler & Hough and himself a member of the regiment, designed the new armory, supervised by Isaac Perry, the state architect. New York City designated the building a landmark in 1977. The National Register of Historic Places followed in 1980.
