Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.

  1. Central dome and small cupolas

The renders show a large central dome with small domes and a porch at the corners. Print slowly with good cooling, at 0.12–0.16 mm layers, and use Full detail on larger prints to keep the dome ribs.

  2. One piece with the ground

240 Centre Street is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.

  3. Pick the detail for your nozzle

In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.

  4. Colors

Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 240 Centre Street takes the building color.

  5. File format

You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.

About 240 Centre Street

Little Italy, in Manhattan, is home to 240 Centre Street, the old New York City Police Headquarters. Hoppin & Koen designed it, and the city's police department, the NYPD, had its headquarters there from 1909 to 1973. Ehrenkranz Group & Eckstut turned it into luxury housing in 1988, as the Police Building Apartments. The building takes up a full city block, bordered by Centre Street, Broome Street, Centre Market Place and Grand Street.

The design mixes Baroque and Renaissance Revival styles, and limestone and granite clad the structure. On the Centre Street front, a central portico with a dome on top is set between two wings. There are five stories above ground and two basement levels. Shooting ranges and mechanical rooms were originally in the basements, and the fourth floor held an armory and drill room, and the fifth a telegraph center.

It replaced an older building on Mulberry Street that had been finished in 1862. After the five boroughs consolidated in 1898, the department needed a new headquarters. The new headquarters formally opened on November 27, 1909. In 1973 the department relocated to One Police Plaza. The old building then sat abandoned for a decade before its sale in 1984. New York City designates it a landmark, and it appears in the National Register of Historic Places.
