43 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Fine floor lines
The facade carries fine horizontal floor lines. Print friendly adapts those thin edges to your print scale; Full detail keeps every line, which suits a larger print or a fine nozzle.
- Tall, slender tower
Slow printing and good cooling help the upper floors of a tall narrow tower stay clean, and 0.12-0.16 mm layers keep the upper floors crisp.
- One piece with the ground
Halcyon (303 East 51st Street) is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. Halcyon (303 East 51st Street) takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About Halcyon (303 East 51st Street)
303 East 51st Street is a residential tower on the corner of Second Avenue and 51st Street, in Manhattan's Turtle Bay neighborhood. It rises 360 ft (110 m) and has 32 floors. The finished building, called the Halcyon Building, was completed in 2015, and it is addressed as 305 East 51st Street.
The first design was for a 40-story tower 470 feet (140 m) high. On December 19, 2007, with work already underway, the developer opted for a slightly larger scheme: 44 stories, 117 residential units, with a height of 504 ft (154 m). Only a few months later, a crane collapse stopped construction.
On March 15, 2008, a tower crane being used on the project broke away and fell, killing seven people and injuring 24 others. It was a luffing-jib model made by Favco, standing 200 feet (61 m) at that point, and workers were adding a steel collar at the 18th floor while lengthening it upward. Mayor Michael Bloomberg described it as the worst construction accident in the city's recent history.
