7 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Long ribbed drill shed roof
The drill shed has a broad pitched roof crossed by many fine ribs. A layer height of 0.12 to 0.16 mm keeps those lines crisp, and a larger print size helps them show.
- Small roof structures
The administration building has small boxes and stepped parts on its roof. Print friendly adapts thin parts like these to the print scale; Full detail keeps them for larger prints.
- One piece with the ground
The 369th Regiment Armory is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The 369th Regiment Armory takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the 369th Regiment Armory
In Harlem, Manhattan, at 2366 Fifth Avenue, on the block from West 142nd to West 143rd Street, stands the 369th Regiment Armory, a historic National Guard building. The regiment it was built for is nicknamed the "Harlem Hellfighters". It was founded in 1913 as New York State's first all-African-American National Guard unit. The 369th Sustainment Brigade later made its home there.
The armory consists of two brick structures. The Art Deco administration building, which dates from 1930–1933, was designed by Sidney Wein and John S. Van Wart. Joined to it is a drill shed with a medieval-inspired look, dating from 1921–1924, designed by Tachau and Vought. Their earlier work includes the Kingsbridge Armory in the Bronx. The drill shed covers 4,600 m2 (50,000 square feet).
Funding was approved in July 1921 after advocacy by Charles H. Roberts, among the first two black aldermen in the city. Tenements on the Fifth Avenue site were demolished, and work began with a groundbreaking in November 1921. The first plans called only for the drill shed, but an administration building was needed for the armory to work fully. The city designated the armory a landmark in 1985, and a National Register of Historic Places listing came in 1994.
