17 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Stepped crown
The tower narrows in steps near the top, with small blocks and ornament. Print friendly adapts the crown to the print scale; Full detail and a layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keep more of it.
- Vertical ribs on the facade
Tall vertical bands run up the front of the tower. A bigger print keeps these shallow bands readable.
- One piece with the ground
45 Christopher Street is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. 45 Christopher Street takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About 45 Christopher Street
The residential building at 45 Christopher Street is in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. It occupies the north side of the street, close to Christopher Park. The developer brothers Bing & Bing built it, working with the architectural firm Boak & Paris. Hyman F. Paris and Russell M. Boak had left Emery Roth's firm in 1927 to start their own practice. The building received its occupancy license on July 17, 1931.
The building was one of five that Bing & Bing developed at the same time in the area. On April 1, 1929, Leo Bing announced that his firm had quietly bought 75 small lots and old buildings, mostly near Abingdon Square, Jackson Square Park and Sheridan Square, to be combined for larger apartment buildings of 17 stories. He aimed to remake the district as a modern counterpart of a once high-class residential area.
Theodor Adorno, the philosopher and cultural theorist, was a resident. Anaïs Nin worked as a young woman at Lawrence R. Maxwell Books, one of the ground floor shops. The Stonewall Inn is next door, and during the Stonewall riots a ground-floor shop had its windows smashed. By September 1931, though the Great Depression had begun, Bing & Bing reported that its five new buildings were proving popular and that much of the space had been leased.
