5 mm tall on a 160 mm print
Make this print opens the generator on a 600 m square around the landmark. Buildings print at close to true scale, so the landmark grows with the print size.
- Rows of window openings
Many regular window openings fill the walls on every floor. A layer height of 0.12–0.16 mm keeps their edges crisp, and a bigger print keeps them from closing up.
- Flat roof and cornice
The flat roof has a raised edge and a projecting cornice. Print friendly adapts these small details to the print scale; Full detail keeps them on a larger print.
- One piece with the ground
The 48th Police Precinct Station is joined to the ground in the exported file, and the four-side check found no floating parts, so nothing needs gluing.
- Pick the detail for your nozzle
In the Buildings settings, set Landmark detail to Print friendly to adapt thin parts and small details to the print scale. Full detail keeps every modeled feature, for larger prints or a finer nozzle.
- Colors
Buildings, roads, water and ground arrive as separate filament slots in the 3MF. The 48th Police Precinct Station takes the building color.
- File format
You get a 3MF for Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer. Any of them can save it as STL if you need one.
About the 48th Police Precinct Station
In Tremont, a neighborhood of the Bronx, on Bathgate Avenue at number 1925, stands a historic police station, the 48th Police Precinct Station. Finished in 1901, it is a freestanding rectangular block, three stories tall and seven bays wide. Yellow brick with stone trim covers its facades, which follow the Italian Renaissance Revival style.
The New York City Police Department once used the building, but it stopped working as a police station during the 1970s. In 1912 the station was where Police Lieutenant Charles Becker was arrested over the murder of the gambler Herman Rosenthal. In 1983 the building was entered in the National Register of Historic Places.
